Cell and gene therapy
Cell and gene therapy could fundamentally change how disease is treated by shifting medicine from chronic symptomatic management to precision, potentially curative intervention. The past several years have seen cell and gene therapy move from experimental science to routine, though highly specialized, clinical practice. The American Society of Gene and Cell Therapy reported that, as of Q3 2025, 38 gene therapies and 71 cell therapies had been approved globally, and the pipeline continues to grow, particularly in oncology and rare diseases.
